We believe everyone should have the ability to use the internet and access online services.  We want to help develop digital confidence and skills for everyday life, education, employment and personal growth.

 The Council's Learning and Skills Service offers courses that help people to build confidence and develops skills and talents. The Team works with local training providers to deliver a range of courses suitable for all needs.   To be eligible, learners need to be 19 or above.  Courses are available for free if you are unemployed or on a low-income.

Learn My Way is a free online learning tool and is perfect for beginners, helping to develop digital skills and confidence to make the most of the online world. The site is friendly and easy to use and was developed by Good Things Foundation.  Not only can people register themselves for free, but any organisation can register as an Online Centre and use this site to upskill their workforce or customers in essential digital skills.

iDEA stands for Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award.  This free online learning tool is perfect for beginners, helping you develop digital skills to make the most of the online world.  This is also a useful site for Tutors or Digital Champions to use and support groups of people with their digital skills.

Barclays' Digital Wings can help you with many aspects of getting online, from choosing a device to getting connected.  The site offers several courses including digital foundation skills, communicating, skills for work, how to sop and make payments online, problem solving and handing personal information.

Through Lloyds Bank Academy, you can learn new skills and use online tools to be more productive at work and gain essential life skills.  This site provides the essentials to going online, along with support to secure a job and develop work skills. 

National Careers Service Logo
The National Careers Service has developed 'The Skills Toolkit' which provides you with access to free courses to help you learn new skills or change jobs.  Courses available relate to maths; computer essentials; personal growth and wellbeing; digital design and marketing; computer science and coding and many more.
