Battery recycling

It's important that you dispose of batteries properly.

Please do NOT put batteries, items containing batteries, or any electrical items in your blue recycling bin or green household bin as they can cause fires if damaged during collection and processing.

Instead you can recycle household batteries:

in battery containers/tubes at supermarkets and shops that sell batteries (places that sell batteries have a legal duty to take back old batteries from customers for recycling)
at Household Waste and Recycling Centres (Pallion and Campground)
in battery containers/tubes located in local community venues listed below

These items can be recycled at the Household Waste and Recycling Centres at Pallion and Campground,Wrekenton.
