Apply for a secondary school place - September 2025

If your child's date of birth falls between 01/09/2013 and 31/08/2014, you will need to apply for a secondary school for September 2025

Application period - 9 September 2024 until 31 October 2024
If your application is received after 31 October 2024, it will reduce your chance of being offered your preferred school
Apply online and you will receive an email confirmation, once your application has been received
National Offer Day - 3 March 2025
If you apply online, you will receive an email confirmation about your child's school place sooner than if you apply by paper application form

You can request a paper application by emailing school.admissions@sunderland.gov.uk or by contacting our Life and Family team. Alternatively, your child's current primary school may have a copy of the application form.

We would strongly encourage parents/carers to view the admissions to secondary school booklet before completing their application. Secondary schools hold open evenings where parents/carers can visit with their children. Find out the dates of open evenings for prospective year 7 pupils.

Please note that the open evening for Academy 360 will now take place between 3.45pm and 7pm.
