Still time to sign up for the BIG Bike Ride
There's still time to enter this year's BIG Bike Ride, taking place on Sunday 24 July.
The annual event sees hundreds of cyclists pedalling their way around some of Sunderland's most attractive scenery.
Starting at St Peter's riverside, cyclists can challenge themselves to a 14, 25 or 40-mile route, taking in a mixture of woodland, urban and rural terrain before heading for the finish line.
Councillor Linda Williams, Sunderland City Council's Cabinet Member for Vibrant City, said: "The Active Sunderland BIG Bike Ride is one of Sunderland's most popular annual events and I'm delighted to see it return for 2022.
"There's something for everyone this year, from a 14-mile ride along the river to a 40-mile challenge for the more serious cyclists. I would encourage anyone wanting to take part to sign up quickly. "
Entry is £10 per adult and £5 for an under-16, or entrants can take advantage of a new offer for 2022 and pay just £20 for a group of four (max two adults).
All entries will receive an event T-shirt and bespoke finisher medal.
