Local land charges - search
A local land charge search provides information to anyone buying or carrying out transactions on a piece of land or property in the Sunderland area.
A local search will be in two parts:
LLC1 is a legal document which will show entries in the local land register such as financial charges, planning obligations, improvement grants, listed buildings, legal agreements and tree preservation orders.
CON29R is a standard form of enquiries agreed between the Law Society and Local Government Association. This will show any planning, highways, building control and environmental health matters.
To submit a search, you can do this by:
- using the Council's electronic service (a link to the electronic search form is below)
- using the National Land Information Service (NLIS).
Payment for your local search can be made by credit or debit card. A link to the online payment procedure is below.
Sunderland City Council no longer acts as an agent for Northumbrian Water regarding drainage enquiries. You will need to send form CON29DW to Property Solutions, Northumbrian Water Ltd Baldon House, Wheatlands Way, Pity Me, Durham, DH5 5FA or telephone 0370 241 7408.
You can complete the Electronic Search form and download the online payment procedure.
