The Sunderland strategic transport corridor is a planned continuous dual carriageway, linking land at the A19 to the city centre
Northern Gateway
Work began on this project at the outset of 2018. The aim of the changes being implemented is to create a more direct route to the city via North Bridge Street, and improved access to the east by facilitating two-way traffic on Dame Dorothy Street.
